Premier Division

Barca'S title hopes were dealt a blow as they went down 2-1 to AFC Phoenix.

Lee Bonin opened the scoring with a 25-yard screamer into the top corner. Phoenix went 2 -0 up midway through the first half through Memhet Gul's 20-yarder.

Barca hit back when Dominic Gray capitalised on a mistake by the Phoenix keeper.

Barca's hopes of getting something out of the game were limited by stubborn defence while Phoenix wasted several opportunities to increase their lead.

Golden Lion closed the gap on second place with a 4-2 victory over Addington United. Dan Clayton notched a hat-trick and Gary Fennessey added the fourth.

Division One

AFC Thornton Heath came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Purley Phoenix. Trailing 1-0 at the break, Heath levelled through James Silk's half-volley and then took the lead through a Lee Cannon goal, only for Purley to grab an equaliser.

Division Two

SOVEREIGN secured second place as goals from A Dunn and A Morgan beat Carlton United 2-0.

Division Four

A THRILLING mid-table game between Athletico Croydon and Addiscombe Corinthians finished 3-3.

Paul Samuels got Athletico off to a flying start, lobbing the keeper after just 30 seconds. However, two goals by Andre Malcolm put Addiscombe 2-1 up at the break.

Samuels got his second a minute into the second half but, unfortunately for Athletico, they lost their keeper through injury and five minutes later found themselves 3-2 down thanks to a Ben Lynham goal. Samuels, however, saved the day completing his hat-trick 10 minutes from time.

Division Five

TWO goals from Terence Thorpe gave leaders Phoenix Athletic a 2-1 win over nearest challengers Croydon JFC (Jonny Stubbs).

League Cup

PREMIER Division front-runners Mitsubishi saw off Division Five Selsdon Wanderers 5-2 in the third round. James Macinally and Ashley Smith scored for Selsdon, but Mitsubishi responded with a hat-trick from Kevin Dalrymple and other goals from Sam Odarty and Paul Towler.

CR Galaxy, of Division One, are the first team to reach the semi-finals after they beat Division Two Real Madras 3-0 thanks to Jack Guilford and James McCay and an own goal.

Leonard Vase

CARSHALTON Town made things difficult for themselves conceding two penalties and losing a man within 20 minutes of their first-round tie with Santos 92, of Division Two.

Keiran Yansen pulled one back for the Division Three side, but they were overstretched and conceded two more in the second half. Lee Feasy scored twice for Santos, the other scorers being Thomas Hunter and Kevin McGourty.

Surrey Valley beat Oakfield Manor A 4-0 thanks to goals from James Donovan (2), Chris Smith- Langridge and Lee Williamson. Croydon City came back from a goal down to beat Croydon Postal 4-1. Paul Thomas had put Postal in front but, despite missing two second-half penalties two goals for Danny Cuffe and Marcos Torrao saw City through.

Division Four PSV Greenacres are through to the third round after beating Croydon Jags, of Division Five, 5-1. Jason Gooders scored twice with the others coming from Daniel Cooper, Anthony Holleyman and Tom Greengrass.

Portland made light of their Division Four status to beat Division Two Ashburton Wanderers 2-1. Ashburton dominated the first half and took the lead when Samuel Shampando rounded advancing Portland keeper Rick Spiking.

A change at the break changed things in Portland's favour with Ben Mankelow levelling after the keeper failed to hold Aarron Watmore's long-range shot.

With 10 minutes to go Mankelow provided the pass to Robbie Byron, who burst through the Ashburton defence and lifted the ball over the keeper.
