A PIZZA delivery moped rider was left hurt after colliding with a car in Kenley last night (Friday).

The incident happened around 11.10pm in Godstone Road.

The police, Fire Brigade and ambulance crews were all called to the scene.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We sent a fast responder car, an ambulance and the air ambulance team also attended in a car.

"We treated one patient, a man, who suffered serious arm, leg and head injuries and was taken to St George's Hospital."

Police say his injuries are serious, but not believed to be life-threatening.

Part of the road was left cordoned off following the accident, near the junction of St James Road.

“Pleased to hear the rider is ok, but why was the Godstone Road closed between Purley and Whyteleafe and not just Silverdale Road and Little Roke Road.”
