Purley filmmaker's modern Three Wise Men
A FILMMAKER is drawing plaudits for shooting a modern version of the biblical Three Wise Men tale.
Mark Sutherland was commissioned by Christ Church, Purley, to make the short film which shows three suited and booted male members of the congregation travelling across London St Pancras Station and on to Purley.
The video, which ends with the sunglasses-clad trio entering the church carrying gold, frankincense and myrrh, is now available on YouTube and was shown at the congregation's Christmas Day service.

Mr Sutherland said: "It went down a storm in the church and then when the three entered while everyone was watching on the screen it was a real hit.
"I really wanted to show how, as a church, we could play a role in providing cinema facilities or community-orientated films.
"But the whole idea was also to bring the story of the Three Kings and the birth of Christ into a modern context.
"It was also about making it relevant and I think we made a good attempt to do that."
The video has had nearly 500 hits within a week of being uploaded.

“I thought the car chase and love scene was UN-neccesary to be that length, in a 20 minute film 17 minutes of car chases and nailing blonde women was too long and they were right to cut it from the youtube version”
