IT was a right royal occasion when the Queen came to visit Croydon in 2003.

More than 1,000 guests and 800 pupils gave her an enthusiastic welcome when she visited Royal Russell School, in Coombe Lane, Croydon, to round off its 150th anniversary celebrations.
