ARCHIVE pictures and Guiding memorabilia dating back more than 80 years is being dusted off ready for display at a one-off anniversary reunion.

To celebrate the centenary year of Guiding, the Belmont District Guiding group is hosting a reunion of members past and present.

It is appealing for Brownies, Guides and Rangers young and old to step forward, share their tales and indulge in some nostalgia.

Elaine McCulloch, 2nd Belmont Guides leader, said "We are looking for former members to be talk to current girls about the traditional side of Guiding, whilst they can share what modern Guiding is like – it should make for some interesting conversations."

The afternoon will consist of a range of activities and displays.

It will take place on Saturday, September 11, between 2pm and 5pm at the Avenue Primary School, in Avenue Road, Belmont.

District commissioner Arabella Bolton said: "Guiding in Belmont can be dated back to 1929.

"We have discovered archives of amazing photos, patrol books, stories and reports that we want to share with as many former members as we can."

For further details, or to be posted an invitation, please contact Mrs Bolton, Belmont District Commissioner, 20 Fairview Road, Sutton, SM1 4PD, telephone 020 8661 2234 or e-mail Arabella@20fairview.freeserve.co.uk
