Rise in apprenticeships welcomed by MP
AN 80 PER CENT rise in the number of apprenticeships delivered across Croydon has been hailed as "great news" by MP Richard Ottaway.
Recent figures show 2,240 apprenticeships were delivered across the borough in 2010/11 – up from 1,230 in 2009/10.
Mr Ottaway said: "The Government is putting practical learning at the centre of national life, restoring the pride that builds successful careers, drives prosperity and supports strong communities."
The figures show Croydon North had most apprenticeships last year with 910, while Croydon Central had 810 and Croydon South had the least with 520.
