Ross McCormack rumours are 'far-fetched', says Crystal Palace manager
DOUGIE Freedman has poured cold water on rumours that he may be on the verge of signing Leeds United striker Ross McCormack.
Internet rumours have suggested that the Eagles may be close to tying up a deal for the Scottish frontman, who has proved himself to be a regular marksman at Championship level.
However, Freedman said it might be a bit "far-fetched" to suggest a deal was close.
He said: "Ross is a fantastic player and I do know him quite well.

"But it might be a little far-fetched to suggest anything."
According to speculation, a host of other npower Championship clubs are interested in signing the former Cardiff City and Rangers striker, including Bristol City and Huddersfield Town, who last week signed Sean Scannell from the Eagles.
But Freedman said it was difficult to comment on speculation linking Palace with other clubs' players, including McCormack.
He did, however, say that the club was actively looking to make further acquisitions.
Freedman said: "You are never close to a deal until a player puts pen to paper, but we are active in trying to do one or two deals.
"But we have got a bit more integrity in how we do stuff than to discuss it through the papers and we will do our business in the right way."
