CMVC, Musical Director Richard Hoyle is preparing an extremely varied programme with soloist Ann-Louise Straker providing a pleasant contrast to the host of male voices.

Ann-Louise will round the evening off with music promising a Last Night of the Proms atmosphere.

John Ward Turner the choir's Publicity Secretary said: "We hope our audience will join in, waving Union flags and banners and almost anything but no balloons please!"

Ten years ago CMVC staged an extremely successful concert at the Fairfield Halls to celebrate Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee. But that could well be eclipsed by this year's gem of a Diamond Jubilee offering, featuring some 400 male voices raised in song.

Croydon Male Voice Choir is a friendly choir with around 70 members, who perform regularly to a very high standard and often for charity.

Last month they entertained shoppers in the Whitgift Centre and gave a sneak preview of tomorrow's concert, performing rousing versions of Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem and Rule Britannia.

Union flags will be on sale on the night.
