“Well - I certainly have not been able to get out of my home for two days. Luckily, a neighbour did some shopping for me today.”

“@lafantastica I think you will find I posted on Friday when there was maybe 2 inches of snow, a lot more has fallen today.
Despite that I and everyone else will still travel in to work tomorrow and there is no way businesses will close for a bit of snow. Unfortunately for people who have kids they now have the issue of the school being closed and what to do as a result.”

“It is not just a dusting. We can't get out of our street.”

“Is the snow in Croydon really that bad for schools to already be closing? I am in London where it is snowing but not settling... I will need to get home later though so hope Southern Trains don't let me down.
If it was a foot deep I could understand school closures, but when there is just a dusting it seems over the top. I remember going to college (Coulsdon College) when it was really bad (over a foot) and they eventually closed. We had to walk home from Coulsdon to Thornton Heath as the buses seemed to vanish. Today I am hearing stories of people already leaving work and shops being emptied of food, over reaction?!?”
