Selsdon post box error tells people to go to Tottenham for late collection

People who miss the last post in Selsdon face a trek to get their letters posted.
Because according to a message spotted this week on one post box if they want to catch a later collection they need to go to Tottenham.
An Advertiser reader spotted the misleading sign on the post box in Old Farleigh Road, telling people where to go if they have missed the 5.30pm collection.
The sign, at the junction of Woodland Crescent, tells customers that a later collection is made at 6.45pm in Moorefield Road, N17 - approximately 20 miles away.
With rush hour traffic sure to cause problems, it is a journey that would be almost impossible to make between 5.30pm and 6.45pm.
The local resident who spotted the blooper said: "It's quite peculiar, how on earth did it get from Tottenham to Selsdon?
"I found it quite funny, although I think I might just wait until the next day to post anything.
"I think everyone will be racing to get their post in on time. Let's just hope no one takes it seriously, it's a bit of a long journey to post a letter!"
In response a Royal Mail spokesman said: "The information on the post box is a printing error, we have been notified about this and we will be rectifying this.
"We apologise to customers for the confusion caused."

“I am absolutely fuming with the Post Office. It is not easy getting to Tottenham in just over an hour on a mobility scooter. The last time I ran into problems trying to get up Gravel Hill and had to turn back”
