Sixth annual Bluesfest
LACROSSE: Walcountian Blues Lacrosse Club hosted their sixth annual Bluesfest tournament last weekend.
The tournament regularly draws in top teams from a variety of countries, and this year 25 men's teams and 12 women's teams competed for the coveted trophies.
Victors of the men's tournament included Buckhurst Hill (minor), Bathletes (plate) and Donuts who narrowly beat Gin & Juice 4-3 in the championship final, while the women's winners were Irish Development (plate) and Gin & Juice (championship) who beat last year's winners Foxes in the final.
Sadly the host teams didn't make it past the group stages, but the weekend was hugely successful in contributing to fundraising for the club, which runs three men's teams, two ladies teams and several junior teams.
