Snow falls over Croydon as temperatures plummet
Snow has been falling across the borough this morning as temperatures plummeted to minus three degrees.
People living in Coulsdon and the surrounding areas woke up to a taste of a winter wonderland, early this morning.

WINTER WONDERLAND: Croyon after February's blizzards
And Christmas shoppers in central Croydon have been enjoying a light sprinkling of snowdrops in North End.
But there is still a long way to go to equal February's crippling blizzards when 29 centimetre drifts in parts of the borough, crippling public transport and closing schools.
Ian Currie, the Advertiser's weatherman revealed there was more chilly weather in store for the area.
He said: It will be a close run thing for a ‘white Christmas’ this year but it looks very wintry at the end of this week with snow showers and biting north east winds.
"Further snow showers could occur over the weekend with the temperature even by day struggling to reach freezing point.
The problem comes early next week when mild Atlantic air does battle with the chill air over us. Heavier snow could fall and a white Christmas may not just be for dreamers this year.

“No - they did not miss out my cul-de-sac on purpose - they are not supposed to grit cul-de-sacs or side roads.”

“Mrs P, Thornton Heath
Thats good that everyone got together and gritted the roads. But there are areas of croydon that need the gritters, otherwise they would end up isolated. Well done to croydon council.”
