A Met Police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old man was given a cannabis warning after police carried out a drugs warrant on a flat in Park Road, Cheam on Wednesday.
"Officers forced entry, carried out a search, and found a small amount of cannabis inside the property. The occupant, who was alone in the flat at the time, received a cannabis warning from a PC while at the address.
"The police operation was in response to information from the local community."
The raid took place shortly after 7am in the ground floor flat, which is situated within a small block in a quiet, leafy area.
About ten police officers took part in the raid and stayed at the premises for around an hour and a half. Harvey was issued with a caution at the scene.
The pop star shot to fame when his band, So Solid Crew, reached the number one spot in August 2001 with the hit 21 Seconds.
In more recent years, he has been a regular fixture in the tabloid press, mainly thanks to his turbulent love-life.
He married Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon in 2005 but this only lasted a year before he embarked on a relationship with singer Javine Hylton.
Harvey hit the headlines again in February this year, when he claimed to have been sharing illicit text messages with pop star and former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole.
