Jermaine Gilchrist appears at Old Bailey accused of murdering his Croydon mum

A SON accused of stabbing his mother to death has appeared in court today (Tuesday) charged with murder.
Jermaine Gilchrist, 34, is accused of killing mum Beryl at her home in Miller Road, Croydon, last Thursday night.
Her body was found at around 8pm following reports of an argument.
Jermaine Gilchrist, of North Street, Huddersfield, appeared in court by video link from prison for a bail hearing.
He was remanded in custody, after no bail application was made.
Gilchrist will next appear in court for a plea and case management hearing on August 25.
His mother, who was also known as Nazarine Samuel, is believed to have recovered from cancer, shortly before her death.
