A talent show has been rescheduled – to incorporate it into a Caribbean-themed food festival next month.

South Norwood's Got Talent had been set to be held on Saturday August 22, but has now been moved to Friday September 25.

Explaining the change, organiser Hayley Smith, from Croydon Enterprise, explained: "We thought that by combining the two events, we could possibly do it on a bigger scale.

"We wanted to make the talent competition bigger than it would have been."

The food festival will run between midday and 7pm, while the talent contest will run between 5pm and 7pm.

Both events will be held in the Safeway car park in Station Road.

South Norwood's Got Talent costs £4 per act to enter and is open to all ages.

Acts will perform live in front of a panel of judges on the day, and the winner will go through to a Croydon's Got Talent final later this year.
