Sun Shines For The Crystal Palace Overground Festival
The weatherman predicted rain for Saturday 16th June, but thankfully he got it wrong...again! The sun was shining for this year's Overground Festival and the Triangle was full of smiling locals and visitors.
The Overground Festival has earned it's place as the most popular community event on the calendar and this year was equally as enjoyable. The Triangle was buzzing with people when I arrived mid afternoon and I was greeted by an impressive hog roast at Westow House and bbq at the Exhibition Rooms.

In Westow Park there were plenty of stalls selling everything from handmade cards and candles, to vintage clothing and accessories and local businesses had stalls set up offering visitors the chance to get news on local issues such as the impending closure of the Upper Norwood Joint Library and the Cinema for Crystal Palace Campaign.
Families and children populated every available bit of green space alongside the beer tent, cocktail bar and live music stage. The smell of popcorn and pancakes filled the park and there appeared to be more food stalls this year selling a greater selection of delicious snacks, I tucked into an amazing chicken wrap from the Comfort & Joy stand, while my other half devoured a frankfurter with emmental cheese, onions and spicy mustard.

We had a great time catching up with locals and friends, sampling tasty treats and soaking up the atmosphere. It was a shame that the final band weren't allowed to finish their set, as it all ended a bit abruptly, but other than that it was a good day.
