Teenager attacked in New Addington
A TEENAGER was assaulted by a gang of youths in the middle of a New Addington estate yesterday (Thursday).
Police were called to Central Parade yesterday afternoon to reports that a group of young people had congregated and were causing trouble around 4.40pm.
Officers attended and moved the group on, only to be called back an hour and a half later to reports an 18-year-old man had been assaulted.
A spokesman from the Met Police said: "Police were called yesterday evening at approximately 18:45pm with to reports that an 18-year-old male had been assaulted during the earlier disturbance.
"Enquiries into this allegation are currently ongoing."
In October, the Advertiser reported how 28-year-old Gary Hayward was brutally attacked by a gang of up to 30 youths alongside his father John.
Gary remains in hospital with serious injuries after he was beaten into a coma which lasted several weeks after the attack.
No arrests have been made in connection with yesterday's attack, the police spokesman said.
