JUST a year after launching, a business aiming to match landlords with good tenants has made its mark with some of the "big boys" in the lettings business.

Tenants History has won silver and bronze awards in the website and innovation categories of the National Landlords and Lettings awards.

The Tenants History website is run by Steve Hanbury, of Teevan Road, in Addiscombe, as an extra part of his family's buy-to-let business.

The website sets out to help landlords and letting agents being landed with potentially troublesome tenants.

Landlords joining the scheme register their tenants, helping to build up a detail portfolio.

Tenants can then be rated on the website as gold, silver, or bronze, according to how they are seen by their landlords.

Landlords also have the right not to make any comments on tenants they may not rate highly.

The ratings are provided when tenants move, giving other landlords an indication of a tenant's history.

Mr Hanbury said "We are delighted to have come away with two awards.

"It is a fantastic testament and illustrates just how unique our service really is. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Tenants History and highlight just how hard all the staff and management team have worked to achieve these awards."

“nicecityboy - agree 100%. Letting Agents and Estate Agents are the scum of the earth. Let them burn in the hell!”

“So Steven Hanbury can we next have a website which allows tenants to rate their landlords as gold silver or bronze?
What a nasty idea for a site they have created targeting the most vulnerable people and locking them out of the rental market.”
