Super sleuthing: Young Dick Barton: The Devil Wears Tweed continues at The Warehouse Theatre

Our fortnightly comedy club returns for another Friday evening of laughs.
This week the headliner is Dan Antipolski with other acts Jay Sodagar, Elliott Potter and Sion James appearing, as well as special guests.
Make a change from the pub on Friday evening and try out the comedy club instead.
Next comedy evening is on Friday, Fabruary 6.

Celtic Journey Auditions

The Churchill are still looking for young dancers to take part in their April show, Celtic Journey.
Earlier auditions this month were a huge success and now the theatre are looking out for even more untapped talent in the area.
Combining Irish dance with the traditions of other dances from around the world, this promises to be a spectacular show.
It's a fantastic opportunity for dancers aged between eight and 18 to learn from experts in each field of dance and perform in the show from April 16 until April 18.
No previous experience of Irish dance is needed as those chosen will take part in a 10-week course to learn the steps.

Young Dick Barton: The Devil Wears Tweed

Celebrating the 10th year of the Warehouse Theatre's hugely popular Dick Barton series comes The Devil Wears Tweed.
Based on the beloved BBC radio series of the late 40s and early 50s, the Warehouse's series has set Dick Barton in his younger days.
Here he's off on another rip-roaring adventure from 30s Britain to Australia via Arabia.
He's on the lookout for a tweed suit that promises the wearer ultimate power and is intent on stopping it falling into the wrong hands.
The tale features favourite and new characters, including Irving Berlin and Don Bradman.
Performances at 6.30pm Tuesdays, 8pm Wednesdays to Saturdays, 5pm Sundays and 4pm on February 14 and 21.

Treasure Island

Looking for a pantomime to lift your spirits this January?
Then look no further than specialist group The Carshalton Pantomime Company and their production of Treasure Island.
Set sail for a swashbuckling adventure with Jim Hawkins as he runs into pantomime villain Long John Silver and his motley crew of pirates.
The company will be using money from ticket sales to support local charities as usual.
Last time they performed Treasure Island was 12 years ago, but the company are looking forward to having another crack at it for their 45th show.

St Mark's Players are celebrating their 50th anniversary with their 2009 panto, Cinderella.
To mark the occasion, the script was even written by one of the founder members of the group, David Ryland, who has been in every one of the 49 pantos to date.
Over the last 50 years St Mark's Players have raised in excess of £32,000 for local charities and this year's donations will go to St Christopher's Hospice and The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.
Expect lots of slapstick, laughs and music as Prince Charming seeks his mystery shoeless princess.
St Mark's Players are also looking for backstage volunteers to help with shifting scenery - no previous experience is required, just enthusiasm.

Sonia Sabri Company

Award-winning dancer and choreographer Sonia Sabri reveals some of her newest work.
This production involves Kathak, an Indian classical dance form.
It explores variations on Kathak that bring the style right up to date and features three solos by choreographers Shobana Jeyasingh and Lisa Torun.
Sonia will be accompanied by live sitars and vocals, as well as the world-renowned tabla player Ustad Sarvar Sabri.

This is a unique take on Dylan Thomas's most famous and enduring work.
It conjures the most personal dreams and desires of the people of Llareggub, a fictional seaside town in Wales.
In this production, Guy Masterson will perform the parts of all 69 characters - including animals - with the help of nothing but a wooden chair, some dark glasses and a haunting soundscape.

Musician Phillip Dyson is celebrating 20 years at Fairfield with this show.
His programme features the music of Scott Joplin, Billy Mayerl, Fats Waller, Jerome Kern and George Gershwin.
Phillip has played with the most prestigious orchestras all over the world and regularly broadcasts on the BBC and Classic FM.
