The Warehouse Theatre presents this exciting double bill of shows for October.

Both are equally fascinating but could not be more different.

Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales makes up the first show, whereas the second enters the bitchy, glitzy world of The Truman Capote Talk Show.

Choose your favourite to see on alternate nights or treat yourself to a double bill on selected nights.

Performances at 8pm, Tuesdays 6.30pm and Sundays 5pm.

Benefactors

Barn Theatre, Oxted

Wednesday, October 15 until Saturday, October 18

The Oxted Players are back with their autumn production, the witty Michael Frayn play Benefactors.

David and Jane are a happy, successful couple but by contrast their neighbours Colin and Sheila are bitter and struggling.

When architect David takes on the redevelopment of a slum, he and his wife decide their neighbours should be their next redevelopment project.

The play shows how the world can change around you just when you're trying to change it yourself.

Jack The Ripper

One of the most grizzly true crimes ever is transformed into a musical, performed by Sutton Theatre Company.

It's not all blood and gore - there are plenty of laughs in here too and some catchy songs that'll have you singing along.

Meet Mendoza the loud-mouthed pimp, policemen dressed in women's clothes and Queen Victoria as you've never seen her before.

A fun musical night out.

Disco Fever

The Kalimpong Association are organising this fundraising evening at Archbishop LancFranc School.

Disco Fever is an evening of dancing to all types of music with food and drinks.

All money will go towards Dr Graham's Homes, a charity which takes in orphans from the streets of India.

Friday, October 10

Friday night is comedy night every fortnight at Fairfield from tonight.

The Maple Room and Bar are going to be transformed into a comedy club every second Friday.

Kicking off the comedy bill is Croydon boy Paul Foot, a surreal and flamboyant comic who's made multiple TV appearances.

He's starting what promises to be a popular event of fantastic comedy at Fairfield.

Dan Cossacks State Dance Company

There's nothing that says Russia like a cossack dance troupe, and this one is reputed to be the best there is.

The team of 40 dancers and musicians put on a dynamic, energetic and exciting show with a live orchestra.

You'll be amazed at the acrobatic feats they perform.

Daily Delight Show 2008

This is a team of cine-artistes led by the award-winning Bharat Mohanlal.

It's an evening of fun and nostalgia that will take you to the shores of Kerala for traditional and modern dances.

They will also perform melodies in the Malayalam language.

Paul Marleyn

Tuesday, October 14

Spend your lunchtime listening to some lovely cello music this Tuesday.

Anglo-Canadian cellist Paul Marleyn regularly tours through America, Europe and Asia, and is the artistic director of the Agassiz Music Festival in Winnipeg.

He will appear with pianist Silvia Fraser and they will perform music by Schumann and Grieg.

West Side Story

New Wimbledon Theatre

Who doesn't love West Side Story?

It's a classic musical packed with instantly recognisable songs and high-energy dances.

Be enthralled by this moving love story, set against the gang wars of the Jets and the Sharks, all over again as it starts a run at Wimbledon this week.

This is a special anniversary production to celebrate 50 successful years of the show.

Horrid Henry Live and Horrid!

Star of the books by Francesca Simon, Horrid Henry is now taking his rightful place on the stage.

Children will love this raucous show about Henry and his horrid deeds - unless they love homework and vegetables, in which case they're advised to stay at home.

See all your favourite characters from the books brought to life on the stage.

Performances at 1.30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 7pm Wednesday and Friday, 6pm Saturday and Sunday and 2.30pm Saturday.

Croydon Male Voice Choir

Croydon Male Voice Choir are pleased to announce their new president as Delia Jones.

She is one of the finest mezzo-soprano singers of her generation and as she lives in Croydon has agreed to take over the presidency from Ozzie Arnold, who now lives in Wales.

Croydon Male Voice Choir are known for their enthusiasm in tackling anything from classical music to recent pop, and Delia Jones is also known for her wide-ranging repertoire.

She has promised to attend their concerts whenever her crowded international schedule allows.
