The Warehouse Theatre presents this exciting double bill of shows for October.

Both are equally fascinating but could not be more different.

Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales makes up the first show, whereas the second enters the bitchy, glitzy world of The Truman Capote Talk Show.

Choose your favourite to see on alternate nights or treat yourself to a double bill on selected nights.

Performances at 8pm, Tuesdays 6.30pm and Sundays 5pm.

Benefactors

Barn Theatre, Oxted

Wednesday, October 15 until Saturday, October 18

The Oxted Players are back with their autumn production, the witty Michael Frayn play Benefactors.

David and Jane are a happy, successful couple but by contrast their neighbours Colin and Sheila are bitter and struggling.

When architect David takes on the redevelopment of a slum, he and his wife decide their neighbours should be their next redevelopment project.

The play shows how the world can change around you just when you're trying to change it yourself.

Jack The Ripper

One of the most grizzly true crimes ever is transformed into a musical, performed by Sutton Theatre Company.

It's not all blood and gore - there are plenty of laughs in here too and some catchy songs that'll have you singing along.

Meet Mendoza the loud-mouthed pimp, policemen dressed in women's clothes and Queen Victoria as you've never seen her before.

A fun musical night out.

Disco Fever

Archbishop LancFranc School, Croydon

Saturday, October 18

The Kalimpong Association are organising this fundraising evening at Archbishop LancFranc School.

Disco Fever is an evening of dancing to all types of music with food and drinks.

All money will go towards Dr Graham's Homes, a charity which takes in orphans from the streets of India.

Terra Nova

Miller Centre, Caterham

Thursday, October 23 until Saturday, November 1

Ben Fogel and James Cracknell are about to embark on the first South Pole expedition in many years - so the Miller Centre Players' new production about the most famous South Pole explorer is very timely.

Captain Scott set out for the South Pole in 1911 but was beaten to the finish by Norwegian rival Amundsen and he and his team froze to death.

This tragic tale has become testament to the determination of the runner-up, and the Miller Centre Players give their own interpretation here.

Old Time Music Hall

Woodmansterne Operatic and Dramatic Society take you back in time with their latest nostalgic show.

Old Time Music Hall includes the music and feel of a bygone era that will take you back down memory lane or introduce you to a style you may not have heard before.

The Wizard of Oz

Epsom Playhouse

Tuesday, October 21 until Saturday, October 25

Epsom Players are off to see the Wizard this week with their magical new production.

They will be performing the classic tale The Wizard of Oz, loved by all ages.

Dorothy dreams of what lies over the rainbow but when she's carried far from Kansas during a twister she finds it can be a scary place.

But Dorothy makes some good friends along the way who help her and make for some fantastic songs in this family musical.

Earlier this year Epsom Players raised over £7,000 for charity with their spring production.

West Side Story

New Wimbledon Theatre

Who doesn't love West Side Story?

It's a classic musical packed with instantly recognisable songs and high-energy dances.

Be enthralled by this moving love story, set against the gang wars of the Jets and the Sharks, all over again as it starts a run at Wimbledon this week.

This is a special anniversary production to celebrate 50 successful years of the show.

An Ideal Husband

Monday, October 20 until Saturday, October 25

Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband returns to the stage after a highly acclaimed West End production.

Dive into the fashionable world of London parties, politics and diplomacy with the devious Mrs Cheveley.

She's been blackmailing Sir Robert Chiltern, who she accuses of building his career by selling a cabinet secret.

Mrs Cheveley is played again by Kate O'Mara, who took the part in the West End production.

With wit and style, this is one of the most entertaining plays in the English language.

Glen Campbell

Monday, October 20

Glen Campbell's music career spans more than five decades so he's built up quite a repertoire.

Anyone who saw him on Jools Holland will know he's been dallying in covers of late, but in this show you can see him perform all his old classics too.

He's got a new album out, Meet Glen Campbell, which features some brand new songs.

Simon Yates

Tuesday, October 21

This adventurer's name first became known as the man who cut the rope holding Joe Simpson during their disastrous descent from Peru's Siula Grande.

The story was immortalised in the film Touching the Void and now Simon shows some of his stunning photos and tells amazing stories from his travels of the highest peaks in the world.

Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Young Italian pianist Alessio Bax makes his RPO debut.

The Searchers

Thursday, October 23

This group's career has spanned over 40 years, so they're definitely veterans of the trade.

In this concert they will be playing all their hits including Sweets For My Sweet, Needles And Pins and Don't Throw Your Love Away.

You can also hear less well-known tracks and collector favourites.
