Traders call for action in clean-up drive
A CAMPAIGN calling for sweeping changes to London Road has been launched by a group of businesses.
More than a dozen traders took up brooms and swept along the street last Thursday in protest at the state of West Croydon.
They called for increased rubbish collection and street cleaning as well as for the council to keep promises they say were made after the riots.
The "Sweeping for Change" campaign is being led by Gnapathy Kasinathan, chairman of the London Road Business Association. He said: "Our message is we need desperate help to keep our area nice and tidy."

Croydon Council said it had worked hard to understand businesses' priorities since the riots and had invested an extra £100,000 in street cleaning in the town centre, including London Road.
