The Robins swept past Ryman Division One North outfit Northwood in Tuesday night's first round replay, and will now visit Worcester City on January 9.
After being held by Northwood to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home last Saturday, Vines said his players had shown their potential at last.
But having not won in the Ryman Premier Division since November, Carshalton have fallen right off the pace and the manager is keen to turn the focus on their flagging league form with Maidstone United the visitors this weekend.
"We have four difficult [league] games before the next round," he said.
"We can look forward to it but it's quite nice to put the Trophy to bed for a while as we really need to pick up some points.
"We have to put in a performance at the weekend and give Maidstone a tough game."
