Old Walcountians 9

OLD Walcountians came away with little reward for another spirited display against one of the league's top sides on Saturday as they went down to second-placed Old Paulines.

It was clear from the first 10 minutes why a slick, athletic and well-drilled Old Paulines side were in the promotion hunt, as they forced the Counts to defend from the start.

Ollie Beales scored three penalties. Two minutes from the end, a massive brawl broke out, ending in Walcountians hooker Rob Grehan and one of Paulines' props being sent off.

Tomorrow, Walcountians open their Surrey Shield campaign when they take on Old Rutlishians from Surrey League Two. Kick-off at Clock House is at 2.15pm.
