POTENTIAL buyers for the Warehouse Theatre are already waiting in the wings, the theatre company's administrator said this week.

And an appeal launched last week to help save the 35-year-old theatre has got off to a flying start, with £1,350 being donated within the first three days.

Jeremy Frost and Patrick Wadstead, from Frost Business Recovery, were appointed as the administrators of the Warehouse Theatre Company on Tuesday.

They immediately ensured the present production "Call Mr Robeson" can complete its run, which finishes on Sunday. The bar is continuing to operate after two private individuals agreed to buy stock, retaining any profits.

Most importantly, Mr Frost announced: "We have already been approached by a number of parties interested in buying the theatre and/or its assets."

Mr Frost would not name a sum involved, but it is likely at least £100,000 would be needed to clear the theatre's negative balance.

“If that's all they want for it why don't they issue shares. 1000 shares at £100 each.

Or team up with the David Lean Campaign and have a joint Theatre/Cinema”
