A WATER company promised to send out an engineer this week to fix a leak that has flooded several parking spaces in Waddon.

Thames Water has promised to sort out the faulty pump in Waddon Well, off Waddon Way.

There have been flooding problems for eight weeks, ever since workmen left the site.

Wilfred Cooper, 69, who does voluntary maintenance work at the Croydon Municipal Offices bowling club in Waddon Well, complained that he had been given the "run around" by Thames Water since the leak started.

He said: "We have lost lots of parking spaces and Thames Water have been slow to do anything about it.

"The ground has turned into a bog since I reported the problem several weeks ago."

When the Advertiser contacted Thames Water this week, a spokesman said: "We are sending out an engineer to deal with this now."
