The Advertiser understands the incident took place three weeks ago on the number 3 service between New Addington and Wimbledon.

Widespread coverage of the incident sparked a British Transport Police (BTP) investigation and led Transport for London to condemn her actions.

This evening the BTP confirmed a 34-year-old from New Addington had been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.
