Woods suffer setback with losing draw
WOODMANSTERNE suffered a blow to their form on Saturday, after falling to a losing draw against Putney.
Woods won the toss, and opening bowlers Jay Patel and Alex Squires began well, holding Putney to 50-4.
However, Woods' change bowlers suffered bowling into the wind, conceding 82 from just seven overs, as Damandeep Singh played with ebullience and Devon Ebersohn took himself to the brink of a half century.
James Bull brought a modicum of control and Matt Joyce snaffled three quick wickets, but hard-hitting from Will Middleton and Dylan Ramsay allowed Putney to declare on 214-8.

Woods had 48 overs to respond and it soon became 48 overs to try to survive as they suffered a calamitous start.
Spinners Ian Almond and James Peters reduced Woods to 7-4, and from then on only Ian Miller looked like being able to build a major score.
He fell for 41 and Woods were left to block out the remaining overs.
They shuffled to 86-9, eventually seeing out the match for a losing draw and slipped to fourth in the division two standings as a result.
Woods will look to get back to winning ways this weekend as they entertain lowly Wandgas.
