World class violinist Tasmin Little joined a music student from Croydon to perform a concert.

Hayley Pope, who attends Old Palace of John Whitgift School, in Old Palace Road, Croydon, played with Tasmin in the school's 15th century banqueting hall on March 5.

The 16-year-old, who started playing the violin at the age of five, said: "Playing the violin with such an accomplished world class musician was incredible.

"I am very happy to have been given this opportunity and it has helped me to improve my general performing skills."

Tasmin was invited to Old Palace as part of the school's annual Musicfest, which is a celebration of all things musical.

Gareth Hemmings, subject leader for music at the school, added: "This event marked the end of a week of concerts and musical events which involved all students at the school from reception up to Year 13."
