Young Eagles cruise through in FA Youth Cup
CRYSTAL Palace U18s eased past Derby County to book their spot in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park last night.
Goals from Wilfred Zaha and Joe Goldsmith in the first half secured the young Eagles' safe passage into the next round.

Palace youngsters celebrate at Selhurst Park
A physical County side threatened early in the match but Gary Issot's side showed good maturity to handle the pressure and slowly took control of the game.
The lively Zaha gave Palace the lead, displaying electric pace to race through on goal and coolly finishing past the Derby keeper.
The game was sealed just before half-time with the best move of the match. Ibra Sekajja flew down the right wing and delivered a low cross into the area, Jack Randall cleverly dummied the ball and Goldsmith provided the finishing touch.
After the break Palace comfortably held onto the lead and knocked the ball around with confidence.
The Eagles will play either Hull or Stoke in the fifth round after those two sides meet tonight (Tuesday).

“Apolgy accepted Lee.
Just heard on SSN that the club is in administration.
Thing is to stop blaming anyone anymore and look to the future. there are potential buyers and we will be ok. It's whether we can keep hold Moses, etc is the question but now we have been deducted 10 pts and in the relegation dogfight now is the time for us us to get behind the club.”

“If I recall when Palace and moan utd were in the final, this was the Bright and Wright era. I think Routledge and Watson were still in short trousers then.
How long has this academy been going for, about 7/8 years.
It's not only about bringing the talent through, it's also a part of the community. There is education attached to it plus help for players deemed not good enough to make it. This is why our academy is deemed second to none”

“L0uis this is what you said earlier now you are changing your mind again. "Clive,Arsenal have got so many players of the same type as Victor Moses he wouldn't get 1 game in 10." And L0uis, age has nothing to do with it because Wenger believes if you are good enough then you are old enough. Do you believe that Moses will develop better under master tactician Warnock than Wenger?”

“Lee, what is your point. Why don't you you use your brain to you maximum or are you doing that already.
Finally we agree we have a brillaint academy that our hero Simon Jordan invested in.
We have always produced youngsters for the first team and only a handful have made it but it is the Jordan era that we should concentrate on. There was Routledge but he got too big for his boots, Watson thought he could play in the prem and Soares, whether he has got another level well that's debateable in my opinion.
When these players were in the first team, the likes of Moses, Clyne, Scannell, Hills and Wiggins were coming through. Unfortunately for Wiggins he had a nasty injury and that undoubtable put paid to achieving his full potential.
Now these players minus Wiggins are part of the first team squad there is the likes of Cadogan, Dijali, Winter etc
coming through.
Yes Moses will probably go and Maybe Clyne but any transfer fee for them will undoutedly save the club in the short term. What if we didn't have these assets, I dread to think.”
