Music legends Take That are currently filming a video in Croydon.

The man band are in Gurney Crescent, Waddon, this afternoon (Wednesday) which has been closed off to the public.

It seems the band were hoping to secretly film the video without anyone realising they were in the borough.

Tarpaulin is covering the entrance to the road and as many as 11 security guards are in place to ensure filming runs smoothly.

A street party scene is being filmed and, when asked what he thought of being in Croydon, the band's Howard Donald told the Advertiser: "It's great. The street's brilliant and everybody's been really friendly."

Adults and children are seated at a long table, with music blaring out of loud speakers and Union Jack flags decked out in the road.

Our reporter at the scene said: "Colourful bunting is hanging off of various houses, balloons are in the street and there are big film lights and crew in the street.

"Jason Orange has just walked past me but hardly anyone seems to have known about this."

“Take That were wonderful entertainers. They were kind of enough to visit my pasta restaurant the following evening. They were most friendly and even gave me some tips on my menu. Wonderful people.”

    “What's more sad......????
Spending the day seeing Take That as a fan and getting to chat & have photos etc with the them or putting comments on here that are insulting to Take That, Coydon & the fans.
They were the friendliest lovely bunch of guys I have ever met, security & police were all friendly too. It was a fantastic day, once in a lifetime chance with a lovely atmosphere and no trouble. As for the people that have left negative comments on here.....relax a litle, you might enjoy life a bit more!”

“for you infomation christine i do work i originally booked the day off as holiday as i am a huge take that fan but it got put forward to wednesday, which was my day off. and most of the people that were in the video as extras do work so the dss wil not be coming after me or them . I spoke to a woman on benifits that was taking part and the job centre had told her she would only be earning £20 out of the £80 as we had to give the production company our national insurance number. You are clearly jelous. GET OVER IT !!!”

“Those people who write negative things are just jealous!
I am not a big Take That fan but they were down to earth polite friendly guys who made time for every local person that was there. Couldn't ask for nicer people. They deserve every sucess.”

“Whoever said Take That weren't friendly is talking a load of tosh. My daughter and were there trom 11am until 8pm. They were all very friendly and polite. We both got loads of photos, their autographs and even kisses. It was the best impromptu day we've ever had.”
