Pupils at an Old Coulsdon school have paid tribute to Michael Jackson - by breaking a world record in his honour.

On the day of The King Of Pop's funeral, 376 staff and pupils at the Oasis Academy took part in the largest ever rendition of the dance to his track Thriller.

Although the record still has to be confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records, it should be a formality as the previous record was 242.

The record attempt was due to take place in the school playground but torrential rain meant it was moved to the school gym.

Ironically the record attempt was planned in May but after the superstar's death teachers decided this was the fitting time to perform it.
