Exclusive: Warnock cools Sinclair interest

10:38 - 24-July-2008

Palace boss Neil Warnock has cooled his interest in Chelsea speedster Scott Sinclair, the Advertiser can reveal.

The Eagles manager was keen on bringing Sinclair back to Selhurst Park after his successful loan spell at SE25 last season.

However, the Eagles boss has admitted that he was unlikely to get Sinclair until at least October as the Premier League giants prefer to keep their young players at the club for their Carling Cup involvement.

And now Warnock has told the Advertiser that he is less optimistic about bringing Sinclair to south London - and has admitted he could miss out on the pacy attacker altogether after revealing new Chelsea boss Luiz Filipe Scolari could be set to keep hold of the teenager.

He told the Advertiser: "I don't think we will get Scott until October at the earliest.

"Scolari wants to have a look at him and apparently he likes him as well - so, if I'm honest, if we do get him it will only be on a monthly basis."
