Warnock: Sears will start firing soon
The Eagles boss was full of praise for Sears following his introduction at half-time in the 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers.
Sears looked full of running and eager to impress at Loftus Road and it was his pace that earned Palace the penalty through which Darren Ambrose equalised.
Sears got the wrong side of Fitz Hall and the former Palace defender was forced to haul the teenage striker down in the box.
"That's the best he's been for months," said Warnock of Sears' performance at QPR. "It really knocked his confidence the Bristol City thing [Sears had a perfectly good goal disallowed at Ashton Gate].
"His pace was down, his confidence was down and the more he tried the worse it got. So in a way it's been a bit of a blessing him having a groin strain because it's given him the time to get his confidence back.
"That's the best I've seen him since he's been at the club. He looked sharp."
Warnock believes that Sears, on a season-long loan from West Ham, is very much a work in progress but is adamant he can still have a major impact this season.
"He's still got a bit to learn, he's got to look along the line and time those runs like the Michael Owens of this world," he said. "But he's got that pace and can be a real handful."
