Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 19:55

Commuters looked on in horror as a pedestrian was hit by a bus in rush hour yesterday.

The shocking accident outside Superdrug in London Road, Norbury brought traffic to a halt.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to attend to the 22-year-old man, who was rushed to St George's Hospital with head injuries, which although serious are not thought to be life-threatening.

Nadeem Khan, a waiter at nearby Mirch Masala, said: "One of our customers said the traffic was blocked near the Superdrug store and post office.

"When I looked out I saw a lot of police and ambulances and noise."
