Breaking news: Jepson lands reserves post

Thursday, July 02, 2009, 07:54

Former Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson is set be unveiled as Palace's new reserve team manager.

Jepson, who left his role as assistant boss at Huddersfield Town last December, is the latest member to join Neil Warnock's backroom team after Chris Short landed the role as fitness coach.

The appointment of Jepson ends Warnock's long search for a second-string boss.

Warnock said: "We are delighted to have Ronnie on board - it's a real coup for us.

"He has great experience especially in working with the forward players.

"It's a great opportunity for him as well, he has promised me he will stay for at least a season - even if a manager's job crops up."
