Breaking news: Jordan cools pay reports

Wednesday, July 01, 2009, 14:09

Eagles chairman Simon Jordan insists all money owed to current players and ex-players will be settled at the end of July.

Crystal Palace players were due to hold emergency talks with the club today over unpaid wages and bonuses.

The Advertiser understands that members of the current playing staff are still owed their annual bonuses, while the players that have left the club are owed wages for June and their annual bonuses.

But speaking to the Advertiser, chairman Jordan insisted the money was always going to be paid to the players by the end of the month.

Jordan said: "When players leave the club we seperate them from the current staff for administration purposes.

"But of course they will be paid.

"The players owed money will be paid by cheque at the end of July - that was always the case."
