Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 20:05

Ben Watson made his first team return, while Kieran Djilali was handed his first Palace start for the Eagles' Carling Cup second round tie at Leeds.

Watson has been unsettled at Selhurst Park after a summer of speculation with regards to his future.

And Palace boss warnock had vowed not to play Watson until his future was resolved.

But due to Shaun Derry's suspension the midfielder has been given his first Eagles appearance of the season, while teenager Djilali makes his opening start for Palace after his two previous substitute appearances.

Austrian international Johannes Ertl makes his Eagles debut while Victor Moses is handed a recall.

Palace: Flahavan, Ertl, Lawrence, McCarthy, Hill, Watson, Soares, Carle, Moses, Djilali, Andrew. Subs: Speroni, Fletcher, Hills, Ifill, Oster, Griffit
