Fresh young blood needed for Shirley play

Monday, August 11, 2008, 07:00

A Shirley drama group is appealing for younger people to sign up in time for their November play.

The Shirley Players, who rehearse and perform at the Shirley Parish Hall, in Wickham Road, would like to recruit more actors in their 20s and 30s.

Olive Straw, who will be directing, said: "We have about 15 members but our younger actors are unable to join us later this year, which makes choosing a play a lot harder."

Rehearsals kick off on September 16 , and take place regularly thereafter on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Anyone who wishes to attend the first reading should call Olive on (020) 8654 2989.
