Guttenberg takes London panto role

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 19:52

Steve Guttenberg, star of Police Academy and Three Men and a Baby, is swapping the Hollywood Hills for panto in Bromley.

The movie star will play 'Baron Hard-up' in Cinderella at The Churchill theatre in south London this Christmas.

Guttenberg said: "I appreciate being invited to participate in such a time honoured tradition. I am looking forward to the fun of performing in Bromley."

He added: "There is everything an actor needs to practise his craft with an entertaining show and a talented cast."

Comedian Helen Lederer of Absolutely Fabulous fame will play the Fairy Godmother in the production, which starts on December 5.

Derek Nicholls, chief executive of The Churchill, said: "Steve was one of the biggest movie stars of 1980s, and it's amazing to think that news of Bromley's panto has made its way to the Hollywood Hills."
