Cute puppies in need of home after being given up over Christmas

A pair of puppies are facing a lonely start to the new year after their owners handed them into a pet charity over Christmas.
Croydon Animal Samaritans (CAS) is now desperately seeking new homes for the two animals.
Barbara Allen, one of the founding members of the CAS, which is based in Pampisford Road, South Croydon, said the separate owners brought in the nine-week old female pooches after realising they could not take proper care of them.
She added: "We've got these two puppies who are absolutely adorable, they are very lively and playful and are just utterly lovely.
"One I've called Holly, as she was handed in on Christmas Eve.
"They had only had her two days when they decided they couldn't keep her, they said they wouldn't be able to properly care for her.
"It's such a shame, because she's a lovely dog. But I think people don't fully realise that puppies make a mess, they go to the toilet when they like and they want a lot of attention."
The other dog, who has not been named, was brought in after the owner had an allergic reaction to it.
Mrs Allen said: "The owner thought they were buying a Bichon Frise as they wouldn't suffer a reaction to that type of dog.
"But it is not a pure Bichon Frise, so they had to hand it in. They'd only had her about a month, and they were upset about having to give her up.
"They are both happy dogs and have been bounding around. Holly (a Border terrier) has been sleeping on my Alsatian because I think she misses her mum, so it would be wonderful if someone could offer them a home."
