DOUGIE Freedman is pleased with the way his side's pre-season plans are shaping up, despite this season only just finishing.

The play-off finals completed the domestic season at the weekend, finalising the line-ups for all three Football League divisions next season.

But while this season has only just come to an end, attentions have already been turned to next year, with Crystal Palace lining up their pre-season schedule of friendly fixtures.

Palace are currently due to face eight friendlies away from home, taking on the likes of Dulwich Hamlet, Margate, Aldershot, Swindon Town and Reading before the start of the next campaign.

The process has been complicated by the club's inability to host a pre-season friendly due to the Olympic Games in London, but the Eagles boss is happy with the schedule as it is.

Freedman said: "It is very difficult because of the Olympics and we are having to pick up (away) friendlies close by.

"We want to make sure that our fans can see us in action and I feel we have got some good games that will challenge us at the right time.

"We have been planning it over the last couple of weeks and we are all looking forward to it now."

Palace will kick off their pre-season fixtures with a trip to face Bath City on Friday, July 20.
