Palace captain Paddy McCarthy suffers injury setback
CRYSTAL Palace skipper Paddy McCarthy has suffered a setback in his bid to return from a groin injury.
The 29-year-old central defender has not played any part of the new Championship season so far, and following Saturday's defeat at Middlesbrough, Eagles boss Dougie Freedman also updated Advertiser Sport on the latest with Jonathan Williams.

Paddy McCarthy is still not ready for a return to Crystal Palace's starting XI
"Jon is back jogging, but we're very nervous with that one," he said. "He's on his feet doing light training but he still feels tightness in some parts of his calf.
"With the break of the leg last year, we are very, very cautious on him. I know we're in a difficult moment right now on the pitch, but I just think it's right for him that we don't rush him back.

"We can could certainly do with him but that's the way it goes sometimes.
"Paddy McCarthy's injury is a very frustrating one. He's now picked up an infection in the groin area, which has been identified in the last three or four days.
"He feels OK but the infection is restricting his movement."
And Palace boss also revealed that striker Glenn Murray could be ruled out of action for up to a month.
"Murray is going to be another three or four weeks away after the injury he picked up at Exeter City," he said.
"We're waiting for a few more comebacks, but we'll have a few new signings in the next week, we'll dust ourselves down and we'll be back for Saturday."
