Kiddie Proof - Burger King, North End

This week our columnist Veronica Madden visits Burger King in central Croydon with her brood to give it the taste test
It was one of those days, I fully intended to be good and eat a carrot for lunch but with being delayed in the post office for 40 minutes I end up on a desperate search for something quick and tasty.
As a recovered vegetarian I do enjoy a burger from time to time, and if I have a choice in the establishment that I visit I have to admit Burger King are the best fast burger bar in my opinion.
There is nothing like a Whopper to fill up that lunchtime ache in my belly.
I head into the restaurant in North End and order. A cheesy Whopper meal for me, Stepson gets an Angus meal, Daughter has a plain chicken burger kids' meal, while I allow Toddler to a hamburger meal. I hope that the Annabel Karmels of this world will forgive me for this junk indulgence.
I am served pretty quick, and thankfully there are two free tables for us to choose from. I have on previous visits been unimpressed at having to drag the buggy upstairs due to lack of space as well as the risk to Toddler's well-being after being jolted up 20 or so stairs.
All settled, we dig in to our naughty grub. As usual Daughter is more interested in her toy than her specially requested plain burger, but the rest of us are tucking in nicely. I unwrap my Whopper and am not disappointed. Full marks for flavour and tummy fillage. Meanwhile Toddler Son helps himself to my onion rings, which seems to have a knock on effect as Stepson and Daughter proceed to help themselves to a ring or three. Before I have a chance to say "Flaming Angus" the onion rings are gone. Probably for the best I think as my jeans get a touch tighter.
Less than 20 minutes later and all that is left are cardboard containers empty of fries.
Toddler has enjoyed his first ever burger, typical that he is not quite as fond of his first broad bean eh?
Verdict 7/10: Untidy tables are a bit of a drama when you are attempting to feed two kiddies and a toddler but there was a staff member at hand to help me clear off some space. Not overly impressed by the toilets - no toilet roll apart from what has been swept across the floor. I was not happy at being told by a fellow diner that I had half a loo roll attached to my shoe.
When it comes to the food, it is reliable fast food, with a better taste than its rivals in my opinion. Obviously no gourmet burgers here, but nice enough.
The children behaved like angels on the understanding that they would be treated with BK. Great for bribery - what a mother I am!
