Fashion store waits for judges' verdict

The OUTFIT outlet in Valley Park, Waddon, is one of six finalists in the company's store of the year competition.
And last week staff had the chance to make their mark with judges.
Led by store manager Jayne Jones they had to give a presentation to the judges, who also carried out an inspection of the local operation. The shops are judged on the company's performance and there is also a visit by a mystery shopper.
With only a week and half to prepare the presentation, Ms Jones decided the most effective way to show what the store had to offer was to produce a DVD for the judges.
This featured contributions from staff, customers and people in the community with interviews carried out by staff members Carly Burman and Ben Townsend..
One of those who took part in the DVD was Ken Sherwood, the district centre manager for Purley Way.
He said: "I was very impressed with the professionalism of the staff in this unfamiliar media role.
"Carly interviewed me and she was excellent. The staff at the store are a great team and are also very capable."
Ms Jones said: "I am so happy that we are in the final.
"I don't think we could have done any better on the day and I am hopeful of our chances of winning or at least being runner up."
The judges complete their visits by September 12. The winner will be announced shortly after that date.
